Frequently Asked Questions
What is Judo?
Judo is a modern martial art and Olympic sport that originated in Japan in 1882. It focuses on using balance, technique, and leverage to throw or pin an opponent, rather than relying on strength or strikes. The word Judo means “the gentle way,” because it teaches using an opponent's energy or "kazushi", against them.
